A Diamond for Regency

Posted by A.R |

Since I'm in the mood for homes, apartments and interior decors, it's time for me to do the home feature on a modern-age loving mum, an extreme workaholic (i know the husband would very much agree with me on this) but still very traditional person at heart who likes to traaa-vel (pronounced as in marvel), as promised in one of the earlier entries. I call the pad Shila's creation because whenever I ask Gundat anything about the house decorations, he'll say, I dont quite remember, ask Shila. Ok, I'm exaggerating but just trying to make a point. It's awesome that she planned it all out and came up with the whole concept herself without a professional interior decorator. All while when she was pregnant, working long hours as an auditor (we all know how crazy the life of an auditor is) and sitting for her professional chartered exams, which she passed with colourful gay rainbows. So whoever says they have no time for life and to have a decent home, here's a good example to counter that.

She tastefully decorated her 1000sq feet apartment which comes with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. And the moment you step in into the apartment it gives you that modern and chic vibe that the whole house potrays.
The first thing you'll encounter when you enter is the dining table and kitchen counter. To give the spacious mirage, her storage closet opposite the dining is perfectly masked in full length mirror.
The kitchen is quietly tucked in the corner, with colourful glass lights hanging over the countertop. A small open-air wet kitchen for cooking is secretly hidden opposite the oven and microwave (not shown here), which is a must for a typical malay household. You wouldnt want your whole furniture to smell like onions and belacan, though that's kind of inevitable.
Subtly separating the dining and the living room is an organza sheet coupled with wooden straw plaited curtains, which can also be pulled back to maximize air space as shown in the very first picture above.
The living room is probably the most comfortable place to be in the whole house. The soft shades of lavender curtains in contrast to the red and black cushions creates a perfect zen and makes it so homely.
And oh, the centerpiece light! Who would miss that little oval rattan ball? A fresh idea compared to typical heavy chandeliars you would normally see. Also by the side of the balcony is Gundat's sad little book collection. Probably due to people like me, who still have one of his books with me after like, 2 years maybe.
The apartment has a view of the klcc on the horizon, which makes it a great port to hangout during New Year's Eve. Alot of mini fireworks could be seen around the Klang Valley from here.
Early morning, the view is naturally lit by the sun, with the absence of  the city lights. Colourful picnic chairs adourn the balcony, naturally a port for the toxic stick inhalers.
One last feature for the house is the little kiddies room. I'm gonna leave the master nest a little privacy, just because i dont have the photos for it. The colourful kids room is the middle room adjacent to the dining, and is probably ikea themed or something. It's a little playroom to keep all the kiddy toys and closet for her baby's clothes.
So there you go. An insight into a young couple's home located in the busy streets of Gombak.
